The Wellness Tour of Palma de Mallorca

After seven winters in Paris as a California transplant accustomed to endless sunshine, I've learned that planning a sunny escape in February isn't just a luxury—it's essential for my wellbeing.

This year, my destination of choice was Palma de Mallorca. The capital of Spain's Balearic Islands promised more than just mild winter temperatures—it's a wonderland for wellness lovers. Just a two-hour flight from Paris, it was the perfect escape for a week of solo self-care.

If you're dreaming of a sun-soaked, rejuvenating getaway (perhaps in the depths of winter)—voilà! Consider this your curated guide to wellness-minded travel in Palma.

8 reasons to love palma

Apart from it’s abundance of wellnss offerings, here’s some other reasons I fell in love with Palma and would 100% recommend it for a solo trip, girls getaway, romantic weekend, you name it…

  1. Year-round sunshine (300+ days per year)

  2. Easy travel, Palma International Airport is just 20 mins from downtown

  3. Affordable everything (compared to Paris anyway!) I especially appreciated the 3€ cappucinos and 15-20€ yoga classes

  4. Thriving health food scene with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options

  5. Strong cafe culture perfect for slow mornings, reading & writing

  6. The perfect blend of of beach and city life

  7. Access to nature I didn’t venture outside of Palma on this trip but next time I’ll be checking out Deia, Valdemossa, and Soller for more nature immersion and secluded beaches.

  8. Friendly people! I know, it’s a generalization but I found nearly everyone to be extremely warm and welcoming. Proves my theory that island life makes people happier!

They offer daily classes and special workshops, in both English and Spanish making it an easy drop-in spot for international visitors. This is a perfect place to dive deep into the magic of kundalini and connect with a passionate community of yogis.

Just across the street from Ra Ma, Living Room for Creative Souls is exactly what it sounds like — an art-meets-wellness community space offering everything from yoga and breathwork classes to art, ceramics, and acting workshops.

Sadhana Works

This beautiful space, tucked into a cozy courtyard, is a wonderland of yoga and wellness experiences. Their weekly schedule includes everything from vinyasa and kundalini yoga to sound healing and inner dance workshops. You’re sure to find something inspiring to try out!

HEAT by Sophie Lie

This luxurious hideaway, with its original outpost in Stockholm, feels like a Nordic spa oasis in the heart of Palma. Their signature infrared and cryotherapy treatments make for a perfect self-care day. Beyond the spa, they also offer yoga, fitness classes, sound healing sessions, and massage treatments—all delivered with that signature Scandinavian attention to detail.

Hammam Al Ándalus

Don’t let the modest exterieur fool you, Al Andalus is one of the most beautiful hammams I’ve seen! It’s small, but gorgeously decorated in the traditional Moorish style. You can reserve a time to do the self-guided hammam circuit, which includes two thermal pools, one steam room, and a relaxation area with heated marble benches. I highly adding a massage treatment after your hamman time, which totally elevates the experience.

This adorable cafe & boutique is dangerous if you’re a holistic health fan like me — their plant based potions and remedies are all made from regeneratively and ethically sourced herbs, spices & mushrooms. Don’t miss their Golden Mylk tumeric latte mix and the Sweet Orange Hydrolat spray made from Mallorcan citrus. Well in France readers get 15% off with code WELLINFRANCE. Shop here.

Aura Sukha

Wellness Guide Mallorca

This sweet little shop in the Santa Catalina neighborhood specializes in energy healing, herbalism, lithotherapy and holistic treatments. I booked a tarot reading with Raiza, the owner, who is a wealth of knowledge on all things wellness and spirituality. The Crystal Resonance PEMF therapy is on my wishlist for next time!

charming CAFE culture

coffee brunch palma mallorca

Just steps from Ra Ma Institute, this adorable cafe with terrace seating is the perfect spot for post-yoga relaxation. They’ve got it all: organic coffee, acai bowls, piled-high avocado toast and the sweetest servers. The kind of place you’ll want to linger for hours.

Origenes

cafe brunch palma mallorca

If you like your speciality coffee with a side of natural light and earthy decor, Origenes is the dream. The homemade brunch plates, esoteric gift shop, and plant-filled back patio make it a dreamy spot for a slow morning with your latte and a book.

Plumo

cyclist cafe palma

One of the many “cyclist cafes” in Palma, I loved Plumo for it’s light filled location, next to the Basilica. They have plenty of seating (and free wifi) if you want to stay a while to read or work. The dirty chai and avocado toast are the perfect morning combo.

Fika Farina

This little hole-in-the-wall cafe and bakery is Scandinavian inspired, mostly notable from their selection of irresistible cinnamon and cardamon buns! The seating is limited to a tiny window bench, but if you’re in the mood for a quick coffee or snack to go, it’s perfect.

Mar y Luz

mar y luz palma

I can’t get over how epic the view is from this spot, and how wonderfully uncrowded it was every time I went (yep, I definitely went back a few times). Tucked behind the modern art museum and facing the sea, Mar y Luz is the epitome of relaxed luxury—ideal for a morning coffee or a sunset drink.

Hotel Cappuccino

palma mallorca at night

I love a café with great people-watching, and the terrace at Hotel Cappuccino, with its view of ancient olive trees and the historic city library, is just the right amount of buzz. If you want to rest your legs but still feel part of the action, this is definitely the spot.

Rapha Mallorca

rapha mallorca

You might feel a bit out of place if you’re not in full spandex, since it’s another cycling café, but Rapha Mallorca is still a great spot for strong coffee, healthy snacks, and a constant stream of sporty folks.

DELICIOUS SOLO DINING

Primo Taqueria

tacos palma mallorca

Such a vibe! Primo tacos is like a punk rock taqueria with walls covered in stickers and scribbles — all part of Primo’s laid back allure. The menu is a dream for taco, burrito and burger loves alike. Even the ceasar salad was decadent!

Natural Kitchen

healthy dining palma mallorca

Facing the Mercat de l'Olivar (market square) Natural Kitchen is the spot for healthy food with a view. Known and loved for their ‘build your own bowl’ menu and fresh-pressed juices, everything is colorful and clean!

La Mujer de Verde

vegan dining palma mallorca

One of the oldest veggie restaurants in Palma, La Mujer de Verde is feels like a cosy neighborhood bistro — where everything is vegan. The seitan tacos and chocolate almond mousse were divine.

Ammu Cannoli

While technically an Italian bakery, their vegan pistachio and almond gelato is a must-try healthy indulgence. Yes, vegan gelato! Trust me, and just go.

LONG WALKS AND inspiring VIEWS

Castell de Bellver

Just a 45-minute walk from downtown, Castell de Bellver is a stunning spot to get your heart pumping and take in panoramic views of the island. Surrounding the castle are pine forests with paved walking trails, so you can wander a while and enjoy the nature therapy. Free entry on Sundays!
