What to Expect at a Wellness Retreat in France: Inside Reboot Retreat Provence

This is a guest post by Shalize of Miss to Madame, who attended Reboot Retreat Provence in May 2025. Shalize is a fellow American in France and advocate for holistic well-being. I’m so grateful to her sharing her experience, to help others find the retreat that’s perfect for them.

I never thought I’d go on a retreat. It always seemed like something for other people. People with more time, more money, or lives that naturally make space for that kind of thing. But I decided to try something new and said yes to the Reboot Retreat in Provence with my best friend and it turned out to be one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself.

Reboot Retreat took place in the countryside of Provence. Each day was relaxed and intentional. We started mornings with yoga or breathwork, ate the most delicious homemade vegetarian meals, and had open afternoons for optional hiking, swimming, journaling, massage, group activities or just resting. Evenings were cozy and nourishing, with dinners inside by the fire or out on the terrace under the stars.

There was no pressure to do anything, just encouragement to follow what felt good. That felt like such a gift!

4 reasons I’d recommend Reboot to any woman who feels like she needs a reset:

  1. Reboot creates real spaces for connection.

From day one, there was a sense of warmth and openness. I had honest, soul-filling conversations with women I’d just met and left inspired in different ways by each of them.

2. Every part of the experience is intentional.

From the schedule (or lack of pressure to follow one) to the morning practices, nothing felt forced. Just thoughtful, supportive offerings to help you slow down and reconnect. One of my favorite parts was yoga and breath work with Sepi.

3. The environment does half the healing.

Being in the hills of Provence, felt so peaceful and grounding. The fresh air, the quiet, and nature was medicine for the nervous system.

4. The food was incredible.

Nourishing, fresh, vegetarian meals prepared by Emma was such a gift. And so was not having to plan or cook.

4. It reminded me that for women, this kind of care isn’t a luxury, it’s a need.

Our bodies are cyclical. We’re not meant to be in constant output. Rest is essential, not just for energy, but for hormonal balance, nervous system regulation, and emotional well-being.

I didn’t know what I’d get out of the Retreat, but by the end of those four days, I felt more rested and more connected to my body, to my best friend, and to the beautiful group of women I’d only just met but felt like I’d known for years.

As someone who has been living in France for the last 8 years, I think France is truly one of the best places in the world for a retreat. The rhythm of life is slower, the air feels fresher, and the landscapes are unmatched.

If you’ve been thinking about doing a Well in France retreat, take this as your sign. Especially if you’re not sure it’s “for you”, I felt the same way. But saying yes to this experience was one of the best things I’ve done for myself.

With love,
Shalize
